Gloucester Canoe Club

The date has been set for the Weekend Gower Surf Trip on the friday 15th June to sunday 17th June

It is planned to have the Annual General Meeting on Tuesday 21st February 2012, the time wil be 1930hrs onwards. The venue is still to be confirmed and all will informed via email

Now that the festive period is not among us for another 360 odd days (thankgod), we can get back to normality.

The next pool session is on 3rd January at the usual place and time. See you there……….

We also have trips planned in the  near future.

There are plans of organizing a large group paddle from the Boat House Inn Tewksebury to the Twyning Post and back on the 23rd October 2011. This paddle is being organized by a local paddler (Stu) and is trying to involve local clubs etc to try and raise awareness of Paddle sport in the local area. More info to follow

Well, finally spring is among us and the birds are singing. The weather is getting warmer and the scenery getting nice. (The wild life is nice also).  We will be on the river from now until october time. We normally meet at the boat shed, amongst other paddle trips, for a wonderful paddle up to a secret but well worthy drinking hole. If you wish to join us and for more info, please email the club.

We have an extra pool session booked on the 5th april and has been confirmed. normal time 2015-2130hrs.

Be there and pass the word. we need to make it pay.

It was a good turn out for this years Annual General Meeting on tuesday. Members were in the double numbers….

A couple of brief points were the ongoing issue about the club house and sharing with rowing club etc. There is a time plan for this approx 3 years.

Two new victims, err, I mean members have joined the committee: Richard will be the quartermaster thingy…. and Matt who is the social secretary (I know a few clubs that are highly recommended for socials`).

We are also looking at to see if it`s possible to book GL1 for a pool session in April as a oppossed to river trip when it will still be dark fairly early. We will update and send email when we know.
