Gloucester Olympic Celebrations

GL1 Leisure Centre are opening their doors to the public on Saturday 31^st March (between 10am and 4pm) to kick start the Olympic Celebrations in Gloucester. It will involve the sports clubs from the local area who will be coming in to showcase and offer free taster sessions on the day. GL1’s partners Asda, NGB’s, British Heart foundation, Gloucester University , Hartpury College, dance groups, swimming clubs and a lot more will be present.

Aspire have given Gloucester Canoe Club a slot between 10.00 and 12:30 on the day and an area of the Barton pool will be set up so that we can access the water to showcase our sport. Gloucester Canoe Club are hoping to be there.

Gower Surf Trip

The date has been set for the Weekend Gower Surf Trip on the friday 22nd June to sunday 24th June

Annual General Meeting

It is planned to have the Annual General Meeting on Tuesday 21st February 2012, the time wil be 1930hrs onwards. The venue is still to be confirmed and all will informed via email

Pool Sessions Winter 2011/2012

Venue: GL1 Leisure Centre – Gloucester
When: First tuesday every month from October until April

Time: 8.15pm – 9.30pm
Cost: £3 for members, £6 for non members (with provision for rebate if subsequently joining)

Club kit will be provided, you are welcome to bring your own kayaks etc, but we do ask that they are cleaned before entering the pool.

We do ask a minimum age limit of eighteen unless accompianied by a paddling adult

River Sessions

Well, finally spring is among us and the birds are singing. The weather is getting warmer and the scenery getting nice. (The wild life is nice also). We will be on the river from now until october time. We normally meet at the boat shed, amongst other paddle trips, for a wonderful paddle up to a secret but well worthy drinking hole.
