As well as recreational paddling many canoe clubs specialise in one of the several competition aspects of the sport. Being based directly on the canal with many miles of flat water one of our key focuses is marathon racing. We have a selection of specialist boats available for members to use, from the very stable to the not so stable and this is an area of the club that is expanding rapidly with Gloucester Canoe Club reaching the Hasler Finals in 2016. To contact us about racing please use the address: firstname.lastname@example.org
Marathon Training happens on Tuesday evenings from 6pm throughout the year so don’t forget a suitable light in the winter months. We have also set a date for the second Gloucester Canoe Marathon, which be Sunday 2nd October 2016
The club has recently been successful in a grant application to Sport England for the sum of £6,700 for the purchase of some more marathon racing boats, the two we got a year ago have been in strong demand so this is a welcome boost.
The provisional results are now available here. Please remember that these are provision and we await confirmation from Emma re any tweeks or changes.
The general ethos for Tuesday and Friday night sessions is as follows: Tuesday Night is Club Night whereby it is the intention to offer the opportunity to join in with either a group doing Marathon Training, a 'touring' group having a social paddle, a beginners/induction/stroke training group based at the clubhouse or, during the summer, white water training at [...]

There [...]
